An Important Message from Calandra’s

  • October 1, 2012

To our valued customers,

We have been alerted to a new e-mail hoax featuring a photograph of a banner that makes a disrespectful political statement against President Obama. The banner is attributed to someone named Paul Calandra and the e-mail message claims that the banner is hanging “outside a famous bakery in Newark”. The Calandra family and Calandra’s Bakery are in no way, shape, or form affiliated with the aforementioned banner or with the person that is responsible for it. The banner is not hanging and was never hung at any of our Calandra’s Bakery locations.  Furthermore, the individual responsible for the banner, Paul Calandra, has no affiliation whatsoever with the Calandra family or Calandra’s Bakery. He is not related to the family, and he is not involved with the business. The Calandra family strives to provide their customers with the best products at the best prices; they have not, do not, and will not use their businesses as platforms for political statements.

As always, thank you for your patronage and your loyalty.

Sincerely,

Anthony & Lou Calandra

I'm so glad for the clarification. I love Calandra's but was personally offended by the statement. I could care less about anyone's political views when it comes to my food. Politics have no place between the cannoli and ziti.
